California's Propositions

A little help here...

Prop 1A (yes):
$9.95 billion to build an electric train that'd go from LA to SF it 2.5 hours.

Prop 2 (yes):
Cage-free eggs. [will apparently drive egg biz out of CA, but it's got to start somewhere]

Prop 3 (yes):
Sell $980 billion in bonds to upgrade/expand children's hospitals.

Prop 4 (NO):
Doctor has to notify parents of minors 2 days before performing an abortion. [veiled attempt by christian right to chip away at abortion rights]

Prop 5 (yes):
Reduce sentencing and (in some cases) eliminate jail time for non-violent drug offenses, and mandates probation and treatment. [latimes says would supposedly give someone probation for stealing a car. i don't buy it. reactionary drug laws need to be relaxed by any means necessary.]

Prop 6 (NO):
Spend 1% of the state annual budget to "fight crime",  $500 million of which to add prison space.

Prop 7: (no?)
Apparently increases "green" requirements on energy producers, but environmental groups say it will actually undermine it. [don't get it, but if env. groups are against it is probably a trick]

Prop 8: (NO)
Bans gay marriage. [Jesus, who gives a fuck?!]

Prop 9: (NO)
Give enforceable rights to families of crime victims. Limits chances of parole for many convicted criminals. [dubious origins: prop's author is some grieving billionaire who himself was up on drug and securities charges]

Prop 10: (NO)
$5 billion bond money for natural gas-powered vehicles. [Prop's authored by guy who owns a natural gas company. How about $5 billion to fund solar research? Something i won't have to keep paying for]

Prop 11: (yes?)
Redistricting reform. Take away political parties' ability to draw Assembly districts.

Prop 12: (no)
Give veterans access to low-interest mortgages. [yes, i'm AGAINST the troops]

You have a way with words.

Prop 12, a little oversimplified, but, yeah, it's another way for mortgage lenders to get back in on the public tit.

And I'd also add, don't forget that the Urban Legend about not getting to vote if you wear your slogan t-shirt is true, true, true, and also, Don't feel like we can all start sucking each other's cocks
just because you voted.

Steal Back Your Vote

that's an urban legend? I thought it was clear that you can't "campaign" at the polls.
